Icebreaker questions for work, teams and meetings

Pick your group and how deep you want to go. You get one question at a time, so you can start the meeting instead of scrolling a list.

Who is in the room?
How deep?

What is one small thing that made your week better?

Why it works: Starts positive and easy; everyone has an answer.

How to run an icebreaker that actually builds trust

  1. Go first. Answer the question yourself so people see the level of honesty you mean.
  2. Keep it short. One question, 30–60 seconds per person, then move into the meeting.
  3. Let people pass. Choice keeps it safe; pressure makes it a performance.
  4. Connect it to the work. Close with one line on why the answers matter for today.
